“Gratitude is a quality similar to electricity: It must be produced and discharged and used up in order to exist at all.” —William Faulkner
There’s no denying the last 18 months have been challenging for everyone. Gratitude has been something that might seem elusive to a great many people. Strangely, when times are the toughest gratitude is most important.
Many people treat gratitude as something transactional or focused within their religious beliefs but instead, it must be an active part of our day-to-day life. Those who practice gratitude are more likely to feel more positive and even show reduced signs of stress. Gratitude is not just saying “thank you,” but playing an active role in the positive achievements of others – even if it’s small or even unseen.
In this episode of Old Nerd in the Gym Fitness Podcast, your hosts Gery Deer and Julie Barth talk about gratitude in some most unusual ways. They’ll get into what it means to practice gratitude, beyond the practical definition of the concept, and discuss where it fits into the lives of the devout and those without religion at all.
